In this video, I spoke about gestational diabetes and the recommended diet of my physicians in Japan.
My Dietician suggests that I eat three meals a day- breakfast, lunch and dinner with four hours between breakfast and lunch and six hours between lunch and dinner. Snacking is strictly prohibited between meals.
On the other hand, my Diabetes doctor recommends that I eat six times a day- my core meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with a light snack between meals of no more than 150kcals.
However, I find that eating three meals a day helps with regulating my blood sugar level much better and the baby is getting all the nutrients he needs.
