Xiaomi teams up with iHealth to offer us a diabetic connected meter
The so-called Xiaomi iHealth Smart Blood Glucose Meter is a connected meter developed by iHealth Labs that allows us to measure blood sugar levels and register them with a mobile application. The device is an interesting alternative for people with diabetes. It is a small device of 52 x 30 x 9.5 mm that weighs only 10.3 grams and that stands out for that drop shape and for having the 3.5 mm connector. Inside we find a small processor Cypress that is responsible for the calibration of the measurement algorithm and provide maximum precision when offering these data on blood sugar levels.
This glucometer makes use of a non-rechargeable button cell battery that can be easily replaced. The device hardly consumes energy, which makes these batteries stand a long time without needing to be changed. The blood sugar levels are measured in the same way as other blood glucose meters: the device includes 25 packs of test papers, blood collection needles and disinfectant sheets, as well as a collecting pen in which we place these needles when We are using them.
Once we collect a small drop of blood and introduce it into the meter, we can connect this device to our mobile through the headphone jack. The application developed by Xiaomi to track those levels is available for both iOS and Android, and in five seconds it will offer information about the test performed.
