Can You Still Drink Alcohol with Diabetes?

Alcohol is often a big part of our social lives, but can you still enjoy high sugar alcohol as part of a diabetic diet? The short answer is that if you want to manage your diabetes well, you should avoid alcohol as often as possible. But some drinks are better for your blood sugar levels than others, so if you are going to indulge, make sure you choose a low glycaemic alcohol and mixer to make sure you don’t trigger diabetic symptoms.

Dr Nicola Siso has a PhD in Holistic Nutrition, and following a diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes, began her journey using nutrition to find a cure. Now, having cured her symptoms of diabetes using a natural diet and lifestyle changes, she has created an informative course in diabetes nutrition to help other sufferers control their blood sugar and live healthier lives.
